I'm Losing It, With Every Move I Die (Newsea NightBloom Moose'd)

Okay, so things have been hectic, and my game keeps crashing for some reason (not hair related, I'm positive) so taking previews has been really hard. My life has been pretty nuts, and I've been pretty stressed because I have too much to do all the time, and its driving me nuts. This is probably the closest thing to stress relief I have, though, so the posts are probably still going to come out at least weekly, but no promises.

Disregard the following paragraph, its just me venting.
One thing that's really been pissing me off is some of the newer retexturers out there. It doesn't bother me that other people retexture, but the fact that they release everything so quickly. To be honest, I'm very jealous of them all. It takes me about 4 hours per retexture, and most days I simply don't have the time to do my life stuff much less sims stuff. I also have a feeling that these people are just dropping their textures into a template and just cranking everything out while I'm sitting here MAKING textures for each individual hair, and yet I STILL get shit for not being pooklet. AND on top of that, I go to great lengths to demonstrate the difference between my textures and the originals, and all these people get praised for taking like 5 pictures in random colors. I have to take 15 (3 for each color) and then people say that my graphics card is terrible and I shouldn't be making things for Sims. You simply can't win.

Title is based on Ke$ha's Dancing With Tears In My Eyes.

It's all my fault,
Moosie

P.S. (In YELLER): If you have any issues, let me know, and I will fix them ASAP.
Do what you like with my files, but no paysites, and don't take my textures. I require credit only if my files are bundled in a download, but if you take previews with my work in them, it would be REALLY nice if you credited me.

  1. Ya know.. There's no need to be jealous. When people release their textures, they do work hard. It is NOT easy stuff, as you would know. Taking 15 different pictures is fine, but that is your decision, not everyone elses. If you think it is a good idea then do it. Remember, who are you really creating for?

P.S. People are complaining about your textures, not that fact that you dont use Pooklet textures. :P

  2. It is quite odd. Strangely, I know exactly what you are talking about. I just want you to know that I LOVE your retextures, and I will never stop using them. ^-^

  3. All I can say is: welcome to the brand new Sims Trolling Community! :D

    lol

Well, just pay attention to those who actually appreciate and download your work, never forget you share your stuff with them, and not with haters! People are going to like or dislike your creations, but that's pretty much how the world works, right?

  4. No idea why people would complain about your textures.
And I think you crank stuff out pretty reasonably timed (does that make sense?)
I for one like the comparison pictures so I know what's changed.
You've got nothing to be jealous of!
I for one, may occasionally download a hair or two from a quicker retexture-erererer, but as soon as you update (or one of my other favourites) I replace out the old file with yours.

    Keep on rockin' darl <3

  5. I think a lot of the shit you get about your pictures and graphics card is because people don't understand how .gif images work. They're looking at the animated pictures and assuming that's how your game and your textures actually look, since they don't realize that .gifs are limited to 8-bits per pixel and images get degraded a little when you save them in that format. Sucks, 'cause until more browsers get around to adding support for animated .pngs, .gifs are really the best way to show off the changes that you've made, especially when you do a mesh edit.

Your textures look really nice in my game, and I bet most of the people who have downloaded your hairs and actually tried them out think so too. Try not to let the trolls get to you.

  7. Thank you all for making me feel better, I guess I just felt a little frustrated from all the stress and stuff. The trolls just get to me sometimes, but it REALLY does help me appreciate the people who enjoy my work.

And Reis, thank you so much for clearing that up, I never actually thought about it that way. I LOVE using gifs, because I'm easily amused and all that jazz, and there really isn't a better way to show off the changes that have been made.

Oh and Anon, I'll definitely begin to show polycounts, I probably should have been doing that since I've been able to open things in milkshape :)

  8. I love this retex :) I've looked at all the other retextures of this hair (about 5 I think?) and this is by far the best IMO :)
