Fate Don't Fail Me Now (Peggy 885 Moose'd)

My summer has been better, I've been hanging out with friends much more often, and eating too much. It's very nice.

I saw this and everyone was freaking out about how beautiful it was, and while I completely agreed, I was also freaking out about how much of a nightmare the thing would be. I managed to get my hands on Peggy's version and it was approximately 11,500 polygons. I decided to wait for the Sims 2 version, because I couldn't fix the original due to its high polycount, so I knew I'd have to reconvert it as usual. After finally getting my hands on the Sims 2 version, I got it into milkshape and saw that without undersides the whole thing was approximately 7,800 polygons. That means that with undersides and no reductions the whole thing would turn out to be 15,600 polygons in total, which is INSANE. It turns out that Peggy must have done a bit of heavy reduction herself, and while she did a wonderful job, her version is not morph friendly. It also meant that I would have to do a RIDICULOUS amount of reduction, which can be messy. Also, I thought it was much too wide, so I played with it quite a bit. Long story short, I reduced the Sims 2 version (15,600 polys) down to about 10,000. There is breast slider compatibility and fat morphs work. Also, lurvely textures. Downsides include minor transparency issues, rough(er than usual) animations, and jagged textures in places. This hair will come down to personal preference, the bangs are lower and the sides are less voluminous. I think it looks edgier while more natural this way, but some might think otherwise. I know that Anubis is working on a fix if you don't like mine. Whether his version has morphs or not is up to him.

The hairstyle's name is inspired by an INCREDIBLE song from Metric's album that came out last week called Speed the Collapse. I've listened to the whole album more than 20 times since it came out, and it came out 9 days ago. I HIGHLY recommend it, Metric is just fantastic.

Click to enlarge (oh god you can almost see  how reduced it is, I'm sorry about how jagged it looks in places, guys. I just really wanted this to work on my chubby girls):

Catch Phrase!
This hairstyle is 9,788 polygons in LOD0, and 6,097 polygons in LOD1 (which I believe to be an improvement over 11,533 polygons for LOD0 and LOD1). Most of you should be able to run it.
*This hairstyle is available for females of all ages, but the fixed version is only available for teen-elder, the younger versions are Peggy's version retextured and repackaged with DABOOBS (because her version had no morphs). The puffy peggy version suites toddlers better anyway in my opinion.*
This hairstyle has fat morph and breast slider compatibility.

DISCLAIMER: I did not mesh the original version, but I radically resized and edited the Sims 2 version and converted it. Then I made the bone assignments and the morphs and the textures. The basic shape is not mine, but everything else is.

Facebook, tumblr, please comment or subscribe or like or follow, or anything you want. Or all four. that would be really nice too.

  5. I'm not really sure if it's appropriate to ask requests in the comments, but I'm not sure where else to do it...would you consider doing NewSea's SwallowTail?

    1. I LOVE that hair, but the only thing is that I can't reduce the polygons at all, and contrary to what Anubis said, its 14,000 polygons, not 11,000, which means no morphs. If it were 11,000 I'd probably be able to reduce it to where sliders were possible. Newsea hairs are really hard to reduce, but I would love to add breast slider compatibility if I do it. Its on my list for sure.
